Where to go in Sheffield

Getting Around

You can reach the university campus:

  • By tram: via the Blue or Yellow lines, to the University of Sheffield stop.
  • By bus: the 120, 51, 52, 52a, 95 & 95a buses will all get you here from around the city.
  • By car: see this page for details about parking on campus.
  • On foot: we're a short walk from the centre of town as well as areas you may be hosted in (Crookes, Crookesmoor, Broomhall, Broomhill & Endcliffe) and a 30 min walk from the train station.

Our venues:

  • Students' Union (S10 2TG) - Uni Central is up the stairs in front of the entrance, Foundry & Studio are both downstairs.
  • Bar One (S10 2TG) - to get here from Firth Court, turn left and walk down the stairs, then go under the bridge and straight past the SU until you reach Glossop Road—the entrance is along a little to the right. Once inside, head to the back corner to find the Raynor Lounge.
  • Firth Court (S10 2TN) - Firth Hall is on the first floor of the building.
  • Hawley Building (S1 4DQ) - 10 mins walk from the SU.
  • St Andrews United Reformed Church (S3 7RQ) - 5 mins walk from the SU. Enter via the side door around to the right of the church (says "hall" above it in faded letters).

Where to Eat

There are a few places within the SU to grab food if you don't want to go anywhere!

Just around the corner from the SU building is a Co-op, with more shops opposite (e.g. Scotts Pantry, Falafel King, Napoli Centro).

Slightly further (less than 10 mins walk) are West Street and Division Street, where you'll find many supermarkets, cafes, fast food and restaurants to choose from. In the other direction, Fulwood Road high street is a 15-20 mins walk with more shops, cafes and restaurants.

There's also a 24hr cornershop less than 5 mins walk from the social venue!
