🎶 Tessa Smith

As a musician, band leader, choir leader and singing teacher, Tessa aims to bring enjoyment and positivity to everything she does.

Originally hailing from Northumberland, she’s now settled in Leeds, known as an accomplished vocalist, band leader, choir leader and sought-after educator.

Tessa graduated from Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire) in 2007, where she gave many performances, including a concert with the LCM Big Band, featuring Johnny Dankworth. She also had the privilege to learn from many world-class musicians, including Norma Winstone, Louise Gibbs, Kari Bleivik, Anita Wardell and Omar Puente.

Set yourself free from the norm and embrace your wildest side! This theme is all about appreciation of the natural world around us, and of course the creatures and critters lurking within.

🎶 Sheffield University Big Band

The Sheffield University Big Band (SUBB) is an award-winning, semi-professional ensemble organized and led by current students of the University of Sheffield. The band performs a diverse repertoire encompassing jazz, funk, swing, Latin, and more, featuring compositions from artists like Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, Gordon Goodwin, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, and Michael Bublé.

SUBB is known for its vibrant performances and active engagement in the local music scene in Sheffield and wider Yorkshire area.

🪩 The Afterparty

⏰ 11PM to 1AM

The fun doesn't have to end with the social! Join us in the Raynor Lounge (in Bar One) for a Midsummer Night's Disco to keep up the wild energy into the early hours. The swing music might be no more but we certainly don't encourage you to stop dancing. Remember to bring valid ID and your wristband so you don't have any issues accessing the bar!

After a packed weekend all about growth in your dancing, let's see you bloom! Dress as creatively as you like, as long as it's flower-themed.

🎶 Nicola Farnon

With Nicola's quartet you get a lot of musical talent that manages to pack a mighty punch and between them they cover vocals, double bass, sax, piano, drums and percussion. Farnon manages to combine her exceptional talents of singing and playing bass whilst leading a band brimming with versatility and high quality musicianship. They play an eclectic mix with classy arrangements of popular standards (and a couple of Nicola's own very catchy and swinging originals) that people never tire of. They all aim to enjoy themselves fully with delightfully original and very inclusively warm (and often witty!) performances. Ultimately these four musicians combine to give a performance to startle you with it's genuine love of music and melody; to entertain joyfully - and to swing yer socks off!
